The Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List has been expanded to 19 occupations with the addition of Veterinarian (234711) added in May 2021. This decision was made by Minister Hawke based on strong industry feedback.
These occupations are part of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classifications of Occupations (ANZSCO) list. This list is updated to better reflect the contemporary requirements in the Australian and New Zealand labour markets. Since March 2021 a program of work was announced to progress a targeted update of ANZSCO.
The Priority Skilled Migration Occupation List (PMSOL) which fills critical skills needed to support Australia’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, includes the following occupations (ANZSCO code):
