Ray Brown is a distinguished migration expert with decades of experience in both the government and private sectors. During his 18 years with the Australian Department of Immigration, Ray held senior positions in Australia and abroad, inclusive of more than three years in Hong Kong and relief assignments in Beijing, China. His substantial public sector expertise laid the foundation for a successful career in the private sector.
In 1986, Ray was recruited by a major international accounting firm to provide specialist migration advice to corporate clients and businesspeople seeking to establish businesses in Australia. He has founded his own consultancy providing exceptional migration services, which merged with PLAYFAIR.
A champion of professional standards in the migration advice sector, Ray served on the National Executive of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) for many years, including five years as National President. His outstanding contributions earned him the rare honour of Life Membership in the MIA. Ray served as Chair of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA), further emphasising his leadership and expertise. From July 2011-15 Ray was a member of the OMARA Advisory Board.
Ray was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001 ‘For service to migration through the Migration Institute of Australia’.
