Vanessa is PLAYFAIR’s longest standing employee (a feat that is more impressive than it sounds). The challenges she has faced on the frontlines of Australia’s developing Refugee Status Determination program, have seen her grow with the company and become one of our key consultants. Vanessa has carriage of cases involving Family Violence and vulnerable protection visa applicants.
Under the IAAAS program, Vanessa has been providing advice and assistance to clients in the communities of New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Vanessa has provided one on one advice as well as application assistance to extremely vulnerable members of the community. Vanessa has also provided immigration seminars to the welfare and legal sector which supports vulnerable people.
Vanessa has been a Team leader on countless taskforces nationally and at the Regional Processing Centre on Manus Island, and has represented clients at the Refugee and Migration divisions of the Review Tribunal.
As the office-mum, Vanessa’s calm temperament and smiling eyes make her the ideal person to guide or train any new staff on current procedures and implement new procedures to manage policy change and ensure that the firm complies with the Migration Agents Code of Conduct.
Vanessa boasts a superstar CV, having previously worked in event management for Telstra and British Airways. Apart from the sophisticated graces this has afforded her, she has also acquired invaluable expertise in database management. This, combined with her thorough knowledge of the visa process, has enabled her to oversee the design and ongoing management of our client management database.
Vanessa is also a mother (#bosslady) and the mumanager of her son’s AFL team (think Dance Moms but with a football). In her spare time, she supports the mighty red and white Sydney Swans and strives for world peace. Someone hand her the crown already!
