Picture in your mind what Colin Firth’s Mr. Darcy would present as if he were a humanitarian migration consultant, and you would be picturing Nicholas Robert Adler. Reserved yet compassionate, upper class yet a man of the people, English but.. well you can’t change somethings.
Nick specialises in Protection Visas and is regularly deployed to Manus Island to be an onsite Senior Team Leader, providing claims assistance to asylum seekers under PNG’s Refugee Status Determination process. When based in Sydney, Nick provides valuable pro-bono assistance to people who have been waiting for many years for the assessment of their protection claims. Nick also prepares and lodges applications for TPV and SHEV applicants in NSW and interstate under the Fast Track process, including highly vulnerable clients identified by the Commonwealth under its PAIS program.
Prior to entering the immigration field, Nick worked in broadcasting in Australia and the United Kingdom, and has previously established production companies in Sydney and London.
A little known fact about Nick is that he has owned and managed a successful vineyard in the Upper Hunter, making Nick our residential wine connoisseur. With typical British reserve, he has never been sighted indulging in more than two standard drinks.
He has won several industry awards for his work, including a Human Rights Award from the Australian Human Rights Commission.
Nick has a strong interest in issues of social justice and public international law, and holds a Master’s Degree in International Human Rights Law.
